The Iola High School LifeSmarts Team represented Kansas at the National LifeSmarts Challenge in Seattle, Washington. They left early Friday morning, April 17, to start their trip. They placed 8th overall. One of their members, Taylor Hesslop, did compete for the individual topic tests for the Health & Safety area and won first place! Taylor is a National Champion! LifeSmarts Middle School Competition
Wednesday, April 29 was the LifeSmarts Middle School Competition. Nine middle schools from across Kansas were on the WSU Campus to participate in this event. You can read about the winners of this competition on our blog. Thank you to the volunteers to help judge and score tests.

Congratulations to Keeley Taylor, Haven High school. Keeley was a participant in the Stock Market Game, through her business class with teacher Megan Hett, making her eligible to submit an entry to the 1st Financial Scholars Essay Competition offered by the Office of the Kansas Securities Commissioner and Office of the State Bank Commissioner of Kansas.
